Description
Medhu Vada is a popular South Indian snack that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It is made from urad dal (split black gram) that is soaked in water, ground into a smooth batter, and then mixed with ingredients like onions, green chilies, ginger, curry leaves, and pepper for extra flavor. The batter is shaped like a small ring with a hole in the center and deep-fried until golden brown.
Medhu Vada is usually served hot and is commonly eaten for breakfast or as an evening snack. It tastes best when eaten with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, or sambar. The outside of the vada is crunchy, while the inside remains fluffy and soft, making it very tasty.
Although it is fried, Medhu Vada is nutritious because it is rich in protein. It is a favorite dish at homes, restaurants, and festivals across South India.
