Description
Ghee Masala Dosa is a rich and delicious version of the traditional masala dosa, popular in South India. Like regular masala dosa, it is made from a thin, crispy fermented batter of rice and urad dal and filled with a spiced potato mixture called “masala.” What makes it special is the generous addition of ghee (clarified butter) while cooking and serving, which gives it a golden color, extra crispiness, and a rich, aromatic flavor.
The potato filling is made with boiled potatoes, onions, green chilies, turmeric, and mild spices, cooked until soft and flavorful. The dosa is spread on a hot pan, cooked with ghee, filled with the potato masala, and then folded carefully. It is served hot with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, and sambar, enhancing its taste.
Ghee Masala Dosa is considered more indulgent and flavorful than plain masala dosa. It is often enjoyed as a special breakfast, brunch, or even a festive meal. The combination of crispy dosa, rich ghee, and soft potato filling makes it a favorite for people of all ages.
